About this deal

Overall, the ASUS ROG Strix XG27UQ and the LG 27GN950-B are very similar, but the LG has a slightly higher refresh rate of 160Hz. At the full brightness setting in the OSD the maximum luminance reached a very high 491 cd/m 2 which was a lot higher even than the 400 cd/m 2 max brightness spec from the manufacturer. However, you can only achieve the full 144Hz with a graphics card that supports Display Stream Compression and over a DisplayPort connection since it lacks an HDMI 2.

In this case, we may have to cancel a product or service you have with us, but we will notify you if this is the case at the time. The only issue I have with the XG27UQ is accessing the vesa mount which involves removing two pieces that are not so obvious. Vaimo also has a legally valid intra-group agreement in place and no data is transferred to any entity who is not a party to it. WIDE COLOR RANGE AND HIGH CONTRAST HIGH DYNAMIC RANGE (HDR) WITH DCI-P3 90% AND DISPLAYHDR 400 ROG Strix XG27UQ supports HDR technology across a range of luminance (up to 400cd/m2) to deliver a wider color range and higher contrast than traditional monitors.I've honestly had to turn it off most of the time, because gaming with it on makes the monitor continuously flicker black at random intervals. Better yet, the image pops right out of the screen and almost feels like 3D -- something I felt when I was playing Apex Legends, too.

FLICKER-FREE TECHNOLOGY ROG Strix XG27UQ reduces on-screen flicker to give you a more comfortable gaming experience.I wasn't hitting where I wanted to (120-144FPS minimum) but the monitor was holding up and the gameplay was still nice and smooth.

Aura Sync can turn your entire gaming rig into a colorful light show if you have other ROG components installed in your PC’s case. I checked pure white against my Dell monitor and my smartphone (S9+) and tried to reach a reasonable 3-way compromise between them, knowing that the Dell is most likely the most accurate, and that Samsung also allegedly calibrates their high-end smartphones well. It should be fine for sharing content casually or co-op gaming, but not if you require image accuracy. It covers the commonly-used sRGB color space entirely, and it has great coverage of the Adobe RGB color space used mostly in photo editing.Asus includes its Aura RGB and Light in Motion LED effects that light up in back and project a ROG logo onto the desktop. It’s not 100% clear for which mode this applies, as in one place it mentions it is for “SDR mode / Racing mode” which is one of the wide gamut modes, but then in another it However, the XG27UQ’s sRGB mode has lower gamma (brighter shadows), so while the colors are accurate, the gamma is not. Adaptive-sync is also supported for variable refresh rates from both NVIDIA G-sync and AMD FreeSync systems.
